Autumn Winter has arrived |

The new model:more colour, more casual It’s not a seismic shift, but there’s a distinct move towards casual wear in Scabal’s 2010 Autumn-Winter collection. Scabal is expanding its men’s casual-wear business. Five of the eight new winter fabrics are for jackets and trousers and there’s an exciting new line of ‘soft jackets’ in addition to cardigans and jumpers. Colours next autumn will be just a shade brighter and greens are making a comeback. The Scabal collection features four colour themes: beige-brown and purple, blue with earl grey, green shades, and beige-cream with dark red. Daan dressed by Scabal |

| Daan Stuyven (°1969) from the band DAAN requested Scabal to dress him for his live performances. It is an honour to dress this pop rock band personae. He started at the end of the eighties with the band Citizin Kane and took up a new band in the nineties with a guitar player from Deus to form the band Dead Man Ray. In the meantime he continues as a graphic designer for bands, designing many cd covers.
For the inauguration of the Belgian presidency of Europe, Daan flew in his Scabal "Capri" suit over the Place de Luxembourg in Brussels, while a 48-heads orchestra performed "Housewife". He included a personal sentence stitched into his suit: ‘My dear blue suit, call me when lost’, with his mobile number next to it. >> www.daan.be |  |

Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts with music by Mozart and with an Italian libretto by Da Ponte. It took them four months to write this master piece and it was premièred in 1787. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. It is the seventh most play opera in North America. A film was made in 1979 directed by Joseph Losey starring the best singers of its day: Ruggero Raimondi, Edda Moser, José van Dam, Teresa Berganza etc. The action happens in Sevilla in the 17h century. Don Giovanni wants to conquer all women that he pleases. In his search for new adventures, he fears nothing but the devine punishment lures around the corner. Scabal's customer La Griffe Mesure (Marseille and Lyon) has made all suits worn on stage for this opera performed at the Théâtre de l'Archevêché in Aix-en-Provence (France) and directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov. This Russian stage director born in 1970 in Moscow has won many awards. The French conductor Louis Langrée decided to work without partition for this opera. 24 hrs Golf cup in Salzburg |

| Scabal participated in the organisation of the first 24 hour golf cup in Europe with our Austrian customer Wanger. Scabal designed outfits for the more formal part of the golf event. The event happened at Gut Altentann in Henndorf, a mythical golf club designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1989. Wanger is located near the Salzach river in Salzburg at the most prestigious location "Getreidegasse" . The store is a premium authorized dealer of Scabal Made-To-Measure, Ready-To-Wear and Accessories. They are an exclusive reseller of N°12 in the Salzburg region. Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria with world famous baroque architecture. It's "Old Town" (Altstadt) was listed in 1997 as a Unesco World Heritage Site. The city is also known as the birthplace of Wolfgang Mozart. The famous movie "The Sound of Music" was filmed in Salzburg in the 60s. >> www.wanger.at |  |

Scabal is proud of the photoshoot in the April edition of Twist magazine featuring Scabal's mill "Bower Roebuck" in Huddersfield. Additionally a display is done at Harvey Nichols in Leeds of several Yorkshire mills. Each week the store attracts about 25000 visitors. In its mill in Huddersfield Scabal produces the finest cloth, made in England since ... Located deep in the West Yorkshire Pennines, and overlooked by craggy fells, Bower Roebuck produces luxury fabrics made by a loyal team of staff in a family atmosphere, using the latest in modern technology and production management. A customer celebrates 70 years anniversary |

From May 13 to 16, Scabal sponsored the 70th Anniversary Fair of Eikokuya that was held successively at over 15 stores in Japan. Founded as a men’s clothing store in 1940, Eikokuya has overcome various trends and changes over the years, advocating a style rooted in tradition and receiving patronage from their loyal customers. A customer celebrates 100 years anniversary |

Maserati Winter Fair |

| Scabal participated at the 2010 Maserati Winter Fair in collaboration with the Antwerp client "Albert". The event was hosted at the exclusive Groenhoven Estate during 3 winter days.
A Maserati-only parking close to the Estate was set up as well as a shuttle service from/to the Estate that was completely illuminated in Maserati blue and bearing the Trident logo. Right at the candle-lit entrance steps both a Quattroporte S and a Maserati GranTurismo S MC Sport Line welcomed the visitors. Inside invitees were welcomed with champagne and different hors d’oeuvres. A hostess welcomed people personally and explained the concept of this special event. On Thursday night an impressive 300 attendees visited the ‘Opening Cocktail Party’. A glass ‘Orangerie’ was attached to the Estate in order to host the large amount of guests. On display were Maserati’s latest models (GranTurismo S Automatic and Quattroporte Sport GT S) as well as a superb Maserati 3500 GT that clearly visualized the link to Maserati’s rich heritage. Guests were able to tour the Estate, which has been completely renovated and has a very modern look and feel thanks to the different architectural highlights. On Saturday both the Belgian and Dutch Maserati Clubs invited their members for a New Year’s Reception and brought many modern and classic Maserati’s to the Estate. |  |

| Scabal dressed the window of Fricks, customer of Scabal since a very long time. The family business owned by Bloemen presents our Made To Measure, Ready To Wear and Accessories lines in their store in Sint Truiden (Belgium). Three generations, over 30 years of experience assist you in the purchase of your ideal suit. Fricks also has a women's store and specific ceremony store, all close to one another in the heart of this 1300 year old city in the province of Limburg.

| Last weekend Scabal participated in the second edition of the tailor made weekend in the beautiful castle of Edingen/Enghien. The castle is famous for it’s park of 182 ha that has inspired the Versailles gardens. It has been built in 1913 in a Louis XVI style and is a masterpiece of neo classic design. The architect Alexandre Marcel has also built the basilica of and palace of Heliopolis, a city nearby Cairo. Thanks to our customer Labaere from Zottegem over 3500 persons visited the fair from Friday to Sunday and admired the made to measure articles in different rooms of the castle. Up until recently, personalised custom tailoring at Scabal was only available for suits. Starting next season, Scabal will also be offering made-to-measure shirts. The shirts are made at the top production houses in Italy. Scabal offers a choice of six models, ranging in style from classic to modern and formal, each with seven different collars and three different cuff styles. Delivery time for the shirts is four weeks. |  |

Scabal was pleased to host its top Savile Row tailor customers at its Bower Roebuck Mill, in Yorkshire last week. The tailors were shown the Scabal mill where a large part of the Scabal fabric collections is produced. In the luxury segment, Scabal has once again raised the bar by developing suit fabrics in vicuña, a technical achievement that is the fruit of years of research and development. Vicuña is one of the softest and finest types of wool available. Because the wool is so fine, it was technically impossible to process it into suit-quality fabric. Scabal has now successfully overcome this challenge. The fibres of the combed vicuña wool have to be sorted according the length first, before they can be spun into yarn. The Scabal fabrics made from vicuña make up a small collection in classic patterns. This exceptional fabric is naturally highly exclusive and luxurious yet exceedingly discreet. Only the trained eye of an expert can recognise it on sight, but its amazing lightness and softness are instantly apparent to the touch. |  |
